Why Hives? Go Tell the Bees... The idea of “telling the bees” is widespread across cultures all over the world. The old ritual says you have to tell the bees when something big happens—a birth, a death, a marriage, a move. In Celtic mythology, the bee is a messenger between our world and the spirit realm. The honeybee, and her social dynamic, including the queen bee, have represented the divine feminine, various goddesses, Mother Earth and the nurturing space of the womb around the world. Each of our small group hives consists of four to five women committed to diving deeply into the Sacred Feminine. Each hive meets online for 90 minutes twice a month. The cost is $25 per meeting. Please scroll down to the Hive you are interested in and leave your contact information and indicate your availability. Three types of hives are currently forming:
Dissonant Daughters' Hives These groups will use Sue Monk Kidd's Dance of the Dissonant Daughter to create relationship with the Sacred Feminine by working their way together through the Christian and cultural norms that obscure the imbalance of power between women and men.
Midrash Hives These groups use the ancient Hebrew practice of Midrash - telling stories about stories in the Bible - to give voice to the Sacred Feminine through the Biblical women whose stories have often been overlooked or misinterpreted.
Mary's Hives These groups will use the Gospel of Mary to uncover the Sacred Feminine through the truth about Mary Magdalene's role in the earliest iterations of Christianity and the disciples that opposed her.
